BP: His BP is a bit too high. The national expert commission for BP (JNC) now names high bp at 140/90. Data over 50 years indicate that sustained BP over 140/90 can cause stroke, heart attack, and kidney injury. Modifying risk factors is essential -- low salt, low saturated fat, low sugar, achieving ideal wt, no smoking, regular exercise, less stress -- all matter. His H R is a bit low, too.

Slightly high BP: In general we like for blood pressure to be less than 140/90. With certain conditions like diabetes or heart disease we might want it to be even lower. Normal pulse is 60-100 but slightly low pulse is not a problem. Your husband should keep a check on his blood pressure and if it remains high he should see a doctor. Exercise, weight control and avoiding salt, caffeine and alcohol can lower BP.
