Needle biopsy : Nodules of that size can be biopsied using a technique called fine needle aspiration.  The skin over the nodule is numbed with a local anesthetic. Then, usually with ultrasound guidance, a needle is passed through the skin into the nodule. A small sample is taken and then analyzed under a microscope.

Worth a Biopsy: It was suspicious enough to warrant a biopsy. You had one. The results will be back soon and you will know one way or another. Most turn out to be benign.

Since it has: Enlarged, it needs to be biopsied. It's probably benign (at least statistically speaking) but you can't be too safe or too cautious. Talk w/your doctor and make sure your lab contains a serum thyroglobulin level (which can be a useful tumor marker).

Could be: The only way you know for sure is to have a pathologist take a look at a tissue sample. Have a biopsy or excision done.

Thyroid nodules: TN are very common and largely benign. You benefit from monitoring, if they grow they will be further evaluated or removed before something ominous happens. Your thyroid blood levels will be checked, you may need thyroid replacement. Mostly, thyroid nodules are low risk health issue. Be well.

Likely observe,,: If all this is ok, likely the next step is observation.  It can be surgically removed, but if it's all right for now it may not be a good idea to do surgery.  If it gets larger, or causes symptoms like hoarseness and difficulty swallowing, then surgery would be indicated, as well as if it stays around a long time without going away. See MD ASAP : Please see MD ASAP. I hope your temperature reading is wrong but if you feel tired and have a goiter myxedema coma could become a concern in your differential diagnosis. Need endocrinology consult tempo to be immediate or ER at level 1 hospital with endo on duty

Need ENT eval: Ear nose and throat doctors do fine needle biopsies of thyroid nodules to rule out cancer. Radiologists suggest criteria as well on the screening ultrasound test.
Most nodules are benign. However, you do not know until all medical history, radiation history and needle biopsy are complete to rule out a cancerous lesion. Find an ENT physician who can give you guidance.

Several factors: Routine labs are of little help when there is a mass. The workup of a nodule may include a scan; cold and hot nodules are more worrisome than warm ones. Since you are worried, consider a fine needle aspiration or otherwise getting tissue even if it is warm. Good luck.
