wife had a c section and her incision area is very bruised almost black at the bottom. it isnt tight. how would you know if there was internal bleeding? her hemoglobin came 9.2 after surgery then 5.5 sat after. got transf went 7.5? no pain or sympto?

: The wound has to be carefully examined by the MD who did the surgery who may additional tests eg Ct scan or Ultrasound

Depends: Some times wound will be left open or partially closed if it is ruptured appendix then it is normal, or wound is completely closed, shows blood , need to see your surgeon for possible wound infection.

i had laparoscopic surgery 3 days ago. they used dermabond to close the incisions and my umbilical incision just opened and is bleeding. what to do?

Pressure: Gentle direct pressure, mostly aimed at "pinching" edges of wound together/closed and hold for ten minutes. If stops, cover with bandaid and call dr's office in am. If prolific bleeding, won't stop, has pus along with it, etc., then call on-call dr or visit er.

Probably: You should be fine.  Tell your doctor.   A steristrip might be helpful.

Scar ridge: Depending on the size and location of the incision a scar ridge forms as a normal part of the healing process. The scar can feel hard and the ridge can last up to a year. However, best to check with your surgeon, as there can be other causes/problems, like infection.

Yes, but unlikely: A majority of the infections happen at the 7-10 day time frame.

Bleeding: Bleeding can occur at any time after surgery until you are healed. At day 7-10 the body has released chemicals to break up clotted blood. Sometimes a clot is removed from a blood vessel and it starts to bleed. Be careful and you should be fine.

More information: is needed to help you with this. What kind of surgery did you have?Are there other signs or symptoms ?  It could be infection or nerve injury . Please discuss it in detail with a physician if it continues to bother you.

Maybe: Because inflammation due to the trauma of surgery can cause fluid collection and "induration"  which is a hard feel to the tissue.
