Studies show that people who drink 1-2 standard size beverages a day have better cardiovascular outcomes than those who do not.  One standard beverage is 12 oz beer, 5 oz wine, or 1.5 oz liquor.  Any day with more than 2 is not as good, so more is not better.

Ignore this stuff : Epidemiology by its nature generates a huge amount of garbage. Your decision about whether to drink a little bit shud not hinge on cancer concerns. I do not believe wine has any real health benefits and neither do most of us. Keep up the usual cancer surveillance and make sensible lifestyle choices.
