Laser; occas surgery: For most port wine stains, serial laser therapy can greatly reduce the color and if started early enough, return the skin to near-normal appearance. Sometimes, these stained areas may increase in size and thickness, and surgery may be necessary to return this back to normal size and contour appearance.
