The other pressing issue is the "holes" you were born with. That is unusual and you should see an ENT doctor for full exam and hearing test.

Gets complicated...: In general, the U.S. Is a free country, so a patient can select any doctor he wants to go to, and likewise, a doctor can select which patient he wants to treat. That makes life fair. Usually, if there is a complication after a surgery, that surgeon or another surgeon on the same team corrects the problems, instead of bringing an outside person into a problem situation.  The va may have more rules.

: When placed, tubes are inserted into and remain attached to the ear drum. I see no reason not to continue with hyperbaric treatments or other activities of your daily living. Some ENT's don't like you swimming or doing other activities that might permit debris/germs from the outer ear to enter the middle ear through the tube.

Is there infection: If there is an infection you will need to be treated with anabiotic's. The discharge should be evaluated. I don't think the CPAP will be a major problem. You can discuss this with your physician.

Avoid water in ear: A hole in an ear drum (perforated tympanic membrane) will normally heal on its own.  It is very important to not allow water to get into an ear with a perforated eardrum.  You should wear an ear plug (or cotton coated with vaseline) in your ear with the perforated TM whenever you shower, bath, wash your hair, or go swimming.  Ask your doctor to look at your ear and let you know when it is healed.

Ear drum hole: Yes it is possible.  Antibiotic drops or by mouth may cure infection and perforations.  Also, many perforations will heal without any treatment.  Sometimes a small hole will be treated with medication to inflame the edges.  This occasionally stimulates healing.

Serous otitis media: You probably have sterile fluid in your middle ear, a common condition following middle ear infection. This may last a couple of weeks.  If the condition persist you should see your doctor.

Decongestants may help (pseudofed, phenylephrine).
