Yes indeed: It's got to be strenuous enough to kill off some liver cells by diverting blood to the muscles long enough to have liver cells in the lobule centers get sick from lack of oxygen.  They'll heal up fine; all marathon runners do this. Or unconditioned muscle exercised heavily may leak SGOT and sgpt. It's worth ruling out by history before embarking on a costly workup of elevated transaminases.

: Commonly seen, especially if you took medications such as statin, tylenol or you drank alcohol the night before. You can have them retested and do not take tylenol or alcohol the night before. You should not hold statin because mild elevated liver enzymes are well known adverse effect.

Many ??: Are you overweight? Fatty liver can do this.  Exposure to viral hepatitis?  High fat diet?  Any medications? (even otc or herbal things).  Liver functions are not especially worrisome until 10-20 times normal because so many things are possible to impact them.  The liver is the toxic dump of the body--- it breaks down all the junk we put in thru lifestyle or habits/recreation.

Fatty infiltration: Viral and autoimmune hepatitis always needs to be considered and ruled out. Asymptomatic fatty infiltration can cause ast, alt elevation. That condition is generally not of any clinical significance other than periodic lft should be checked for stability.

Let's think: I'm not concerned about you ratio (nobody suggested you were a drinker i trust) but i'm a little worried about the alt being a bit high. Are you a heavy-duty athlete? Your working your muscles may be raising the alt and that would be a good thing. Your physician will recommend follow-up.

Depends: This could mean nothing if you are otherwise a healthy individual.   AST and ALT can show up abnormal in even a healthy person.  These tests have to be correlated with clinical presentation.  If you drink alcohol your ALT can be elevated.  If you are overweight lose weight.  Practice safe sex.  Have a healthier lifestyle.  Talk to the doctor who ordered these test for more information.

Means nothing: These ratios are meaningless unless you're actually sick (how do you FEEL?) and/or the AST and ALT levels are quite high. They mean zero, zip, nada in healthy people. I'm sorry you had a scare.
