Depends: This could mean nothing if you are otherwise a healthy individual. AST and ALT can show up abnormal in even a healthy person. These tests have to be correlated with clinical presentation. If you drink alcohol your ALT can be elevated. If you are overweight lose weight. Practice safe sex. Have a healthier lifestyle. Talk to the doctor who ordered these test for more information.

Repeat it: Alcohol usually rIses AST over ALT. I don't care about the ratio and you shouldn't either, but the high ALT is worth a follow-up. Lab glitch, ran a marathon, reaction to ibuprofen, or something actually serious. Check again in a few weeks.

You need a fasting lipid profile measurement of glucose serum iron ,ferritin, total iron binding capacity hepatitis B, hepatitis C, thyroid. If normal modify lifestyle lose wt recheck in 6 mo. Get a full exam because drugs toxins and other diseases can cause issues.
