is it too late to heal bruises with arnica gel?

How late?: I'm not sure how old the bruises are?  Depending on this, arnica gel may help some.  It's also helpful for swelling and soreness.  It's very important to investigate the reason for your bruising, though.  Were you injured?  Bruising can also come from systemic bleeding problems, and arnica may not address those.

Safe,MinmalSideEff: The active ingredients of arnica are sesquiterpene lactones, such as helenalin and 11,13- dihydrohel-enaline and chamissonolid. Also  pinoresinol, epipinoresinol, phillygenin, matairesinol, nortrachelogenin, and nortracheloside (six dibenzylbutyrolactol derivatives).helenalin and dihydrohelenalin, may be responsible for anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity. **[P.S. Never worked for me]**

i play soccer/football and i always get bruises on my foot and shin because of people stepping and kicking me. is there anyway i could minimise this or recover faster. i use ice, heat, compression, arnica cream but nothing seems to works ?

: Wearing shin guards, 2 pairs of socks, and moving a bit faster might help prevent the injury, but regarding healing, you mentioned the correct items. Icing initially limits local swelling, and elevation if needed, but after 12-24 hours, heat brings more local healing factors, and topicals decrease pain. Massage may also stimulate healing. But, I suspect prevention is what you need to focus on.

was prescribed bactrim ds for 7 days, take 2 800mg doses a day. i split the dosage over 14 days and took 1 800mg pill a day. finished bactrim on thursday, today is saturday and i just noticed a decent sized bruise on back of thigh. should i consult my doc

Unclear: It is hard to tie these things together. Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) can occasionally lower platelet counts which would make it easier to bruise. But if there is just one bruise and you are off the medication you might watch and see. If you continue to have bruising problems, have any bleeding, or are still concerned then see your doctor.

4 days ago, i upped my zoloft (sertraline) dose from 18 mg to 25 mg. been on zoloft (sertraline) a year. today i noticed 5 bruises on my leg. is this from zoloft (sertraline), or dance?

Ibuprofen: Generally speaking 800mg of ibuprofen is a maximal single dose which can be taken up to three times in a day.  However use caution given the spreading bruise which suggests bleeding, as ibuprofen and other NSAIDS can lead to easy bleeding and perhaps worsen the situation. Tylenol (acetaminophen) may be a safer alternative for pain relief. Concern for fracture or more serious injury may warrant an x-ray.
