1-2 grams/kg: Average would be one gram of protein per kg of body weight. Two would be the upper limit of grams per kg of body weight to take as protein if you want to avoid kidney problems. Always keep yourself well hydrated with at least a gallon of water a day to keep the kidney working and help flush out excess protein.

Urinary burning: I would not attribute urinary burning to eating the protein supplement unless you're not drinking anywhere enough fluids. 50 gms per day of protein powder should suffice. Clear appearing urine does not rule out urinary tract infection, prostatitis or urethritis which can be a sexually transmitted disease. Get evaluated and tested by your MD, a urologist or health clinic if urinary burning persists

Caution: High loads of protein can tax other organs particularly kidney function. You should get routine testing including renal function tests.

Based on Weight: It means they recommend you take in 2.2 grams of protein for every kilogram of body weight.  As a side note, that seems like a lot of protein.  The us fda recommends about 0.5 to 1 gm per kilogram per day for an average adult.  Your protein intake depends on your goals (muscle building etc).  Please consult with your doctor before beginning a specific diet regimen.

Safe: Not really a medical question or answer but as a fellow gym junkie whey is safe. Two grams protein per KG is a good start so 150 g per day. Try limiting cardio and using a basal calorie expenditure calculator to figure weight gain if that is your goal.

Calories &amp; protein: The addition of calorie dense foods such as nuts, whole grain pastas, raisins, whole milk, pure fruit juices, butter, avocado, and complex carbohydrates is a healthy way to add more calories to your diet.  Lean proteins are also important.    Good luck

Helpful rule: If you're trying to put on muscle, take a gram of protein per kilogram that your body weighs now. If you're just exercising, maybe 2/3 of that. You will trim down when, and only when, your lifestyle is fitness-focused. "Exercising an hour to lose fat" will fail because it's boring and frustrating. Being always mindful of what you eat, and finding fitness stuff you truly enjoy, will be the key.

The basics: Protein intake should remain at 1.5-1.8 g/kg/d. Total caloric intake given the cited weight/height &amp; heavy workouts would be ~3500cal/d. Any excess in either protein or calories may add to fat mass rather than muscle mass. The primary enabler of muscle mass gains is resistance training. Monitor your progress as these are computed projections &amp; your workouts/activities may not match the model.
