LDL, or low density lipoprotein, is a molecule in the body that transports lipids (fats) from the liver to other organs in the body. Because LDL cholesterol can get deposited in blood vessels which leads to cardiovascular disease, LDL cholesterol is known as "bad" cholesterol.
