LDL: The absolute level of LDL is not weight based. There are added tests to see if you have small or large particle which is reported to have differing effects on atherosclerosis. Large particle -better . Small particle less better

LDL# Determines Risk: Ldl is a lipoprotein that can be quantified by measurement of cholesterol (LDL-C) or particle number (LDL-P). Due to variability in cholesterol contained in LDL particles, LDL-C and LDL-P frequently disagree. High LDL-P is significantly predictive of CHD risk, independent of LDL-C or particle size/density. Whether LDL is buoyant or dense, CHD risk is increased with high LDL particle number.

LDL particles.: Small dense LDL particles are more damaging than large buoyant LDL particles, but they're all damaging and any elevation of LDL is risky regardless of the profile of subtypes.
