Interesting Q: Hi. Interesting question...no one, true correct answer. Let's assume your VLDL is at least NOT elevated & you have normal HDL. I would say a perfect LDL that would keep you out of heart attack risk would be 45-50. I'd base that on native peoples' values not eating the unhealthy average American diet, and people missing one copy of the Apo B gene. I'll probably take a lot of heat for that statement

The lower the better: Granted, while the newest guidelines are rather vague about actual target LDL levels to achieve, the lower the better. 130 is good, 100 better, 70 awesome.
