Surgical removal of a fingernail or toenail
Local anesthetic is administered to numb the toe, then a nail splitter is used to cut a portion of the nail. The nail section is removed and then a chemical applied to cauterized the tissue. This will stop the nail from growing back. An antiseptic and dressing is then applied.
