Lung removal
Lung resection surgery includes usually lobectomy and pneumonectomy. The lung is divided anatomically into 3 lobes on the right and 2 lobes on the left. Surgical removal of a lobe is called a lobectomy. Removal of the entire lung is called a pneumonectomy. These are usually done via a thoracotomy incision but can be done with small incisions or vats surgery.
