A 58-year-old male asked:
Is the removal of the wires used to close the sterum after heart bypass sugery a valid option in an effort to reduce non-cardiac chest pain?

Sternal wires: Its rare that sternal wires are the actual cause of pain.
The pain is more than likely due to scarring from the healing. The pain should also be evaluated by firstly the surgeon and then a pain doctor. Taking the wires out may not solve the problem.
