Yes and No: Butt implants are safe but have a much higher complication rate than breast implants. Choose your surgeon wisely. Ask to speak to previous patients. Check their board certification and don't go with someone with american board of cosmetic surgery. It's not a recognized board in the United States.

Yes: Buttock augmentation surgery is safe. However, the risk of infection is higher than other cosmetic surgeries, due to the location. http://www.dassmd.com/brazilian-butt-lift/butt-augmentation-los-angeles.html.

Yes, however: Any surgical procedure carries a degree of risk, but butt implants typically have more complications than the alternative fat grafting procedure used to augment buttocks. The Brazilian Butt Lift (which uses the patients own fat) is, in my opinion, the better option in most cases. Be sure to speak with board certified plastic surgeons who have extensive experience with gluteal fat transfers.

Implants are safe: But there are risks with every operation that you will have to accept, such as pain, infection and bleeding. The implant itself is inert and simply exists, creating a fuller look wherever it is placed. Butt should you get one? My preference is to use fat grafting over butt implants as the risks are less.

Buttock Implants: Buttock implants have the potential for infection, migration in position, erosion through the overlying skin and pain from pressure on nerves. Fat can be transferred to the buttocks if you have excess fat somewhere else to serve as a donor site for the fat. Fat transer can require multiple stages and can also result in complications. See a board certified plastic surgeon to learn about options.
