Are penile implants usually safe, or is the complication rate high?

Safe: Penile implants are generally safe with a low complication rate. The most common complications include infection, urethral injury, or bleeding. It can cause chronic pain but is much less common. For the right patient, it is a very viable option and with low morbidity.

It depends!!!: As with any surgical procedure it depends on who is doing it an the underlying problem. Most implants are done by less than 7% of urologists. Many urologists don't do them and of those who do them, few do them often or well. Seek out the experts and challenge them on their track record. Its your body and you have a right to know. Check out the sexual medcine society ood north america website.
