Sometimes: There are cases of pid that are caused by bacteria that are not sexually transmitted. Tuberculosis is one example. The majority are caused by gonorrhea and chlamydia.

Can BV cause inflamed fallopian tubes? I suspect I have PID from past IUD,but obgyn insisting I dont because uterus looks normal and I have no severe pain. I have BV. I have yellow discharge. Doctor said its not severely inflamed. STD test clear?
