Assume both: The cdc guidelines for treatment of genital gonorrhea have changed. They now recommend Ceftriaxone in a single 2gm IV dose along with with Azithromycin 2gm orally or Doxycycline 100mg twice a day x 7 days. This will effectively treat chlamydial infection and you must generally assume that if you have one you probably have both. If confined to genital disease you should not be having joint pain.
