A member asked:

My partner was vaccinated against hpv about 15 years ago (in australia). weve been together for several years now. my hpv status was discussed when we started dating? is there a chance they could still contract the virus (wart strain) from me?

HPV vaccination is believed to be very long lasting, probably life long. However, this also depends on which vaccine your partner had. 15 years ago they covered only two or four types of HPV. The four-virus type included HPV 6/11, the main causes of genital warts; but the two-virus type did not. Check which was in use in Australia at the time. The current vaccine covers 9 HPV types.
