Married 10 years 2 kids and vaccinated before i had sex when i was 17. just tested positive for hpv. i am 35 female .how could this happen? we have both had sexual partners before our marriage. tested negative for hpv in the past? dormant? possible?

There is no mystery: reactivation of a dormant past infection. The current HPV vaccine covers 9 of over 100 HPV types; back when you were immunized, probably only 4 types. Most HPV immunized people still get HPV, just different HPV types that usually cause no health problem. But 10% of genital warts are caused by types not prevented by vaccination. This is just an inconvenience, not serious.
