Uti like symptoms (burning, frequent urination, etc) almost every other week, but urine cultures come back clean. plus weight gain, almost 20 pounds in less than a month . could this be an issue with the kidneys?? std tests also came back negative?

Kidney disease only causes weight gain if you have fluid retention which is commonly manifesting as leg edema. It's rare for a 20# weight gain in less than a month other than an acute fluid retention. Dysuria, i.e. frequency and burning urination, is not a symptom of kidney disease if there is no infection. Cystoscopy may be indicated for finding the cause of non-infectious, persistent dysuria.

These symptoms occur in many conditions other than UTI. Burning does not indicate a kidney issue. You need to see a good Urologist who would get to the bottom of this and fix you up. For weight gain watch your diet and exercise. Good luck
