Kidney disease only causes weight gain if you have fluid retention which is commonly manifesting as leg edema. It's rare for a 20# weight gain in less than a month other than an acute fluid retention. Dysuria, i.e. frequency and burning urination, is not a symptom of kidney disease if there is no infection. Cystoscopy may be indicated for finding the cause of non-infectious, persistent dysuria.

These symptoms occur in many conditions other than UTI. Burning does not indicate a kidney issue. You need to see a good Urologist who would get to the bottom of this and fix you up. For weight gain watch your diet and exercise. Good luck
