Hello, I had a 4th generation HIV test and a Syphilis RPR at 9 weeks after exposure which came back negative. I also took a 7 day course of Doxycycline starting 72hours after exposure. Would you say this result is conclusive or more tests needed?
If i was given a 1-dose rocephin shot and 7-day doxycycline but was not infected with clymydia or gonorrhea and a week later tested positive for trichomonous could this cause a false positive test result for syphilis and/or herpes 1 and 2?
Because Doxycycline is an immunosuppressant and affects igg production. Will it cause a false negative labcorp chemiluminescent treponema antibody test result testing for very late (10y)misdiagnosed/mistreated syphilis? pcp says no but worried?
I was on oral doxycycline & azithro prior to a negative gonorrhea/chlaymidia urine test. I also tested negative for oral gonorrhea with oral swab. Could the prior antibiotics result in a false negative urine and swab results?
Can the intake of doxycycline for 7 days (for something else) affect a syphilis test i.e. make it false negative?
