What steps should i be taking to ensure i do not pass hsv 1 to my toddler? i was recently exposed to it and had a pretty bad initial ob. my sore is healed but i have read even touching his skin could infect him??

HSV-1 infection is very common, almost 50% of Americans carry this virus and most of the time these people are asymptomatic.
The virus is highly contagious when those sores are visible so avoid kissing your child and washing you hands before touching him when you have the lesions.
Do not worry much because this virus infection is very common and the disease is usually self limited or latent.
