Your partner may not have contacted the herpes I virus at this time, but if contact at other times when the virus was active prior to physical sores present, or with previous exposure to individuals with a positive history, the chances of his being a carrier is high, b/c of the contagious nature of the herpes virus.

Get checked: It's unlikely, but you need to be evaluated.a blood test would tell you if you have ever been exposed to the herpes virus.
