Don't overreact. Around half of all adults in the US (up to 90% in some countries) test IgG positive for HSV1, mostly oral. It is rarely transmitted in absence of an obvious outbreak. Half of all parents are in your shoes, and their kids don't catch HSV1 from them! Many kids get oral herpes (you probably were infected as a child), mostly from other young kids in school etc, not from their parents.
