A member asked:

I noticed small bumps on the back of my tongue and my throat is sore, i also have a headache. could these be symptoms of an std? am i sick? are these bumps normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can examine: Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies. Usually, one sees her doctor if a sore throat illness is bothersome (as in this case), recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly. She should tell her doctor about oral sex activities because strep throat tests don't look for STD's.
