Not HIV or ARVs: Neither HIV nor ARVs are likely to cause anything like this. Herpes is the most common cause of genital ulcers -- or any skin ulcers in that general area, like anal area, buttocks, upper thighs. And because HIV is sexually transmitted and acquired, other STDs like herpes are common in people with HIV. Best to check it out with your doctor. Good luck!
