Heavy period: PCOS: PCOS may have long gaps between bleeding episodes, but this is because ovulation is suppressed. Estrogen is produced non-stop, so taking progesterone (primoluten) will cause breakdown of a much thicker lining , leading to clots and heavy bleeding. If you take the progesterone every other month, the bleeding will be much less, but oral bcp's would be better for you.
