Granulation tissue: is a form of healing. The healing occurs from the inside of the wound on out. It ultimately evolves into scar tissue. At that point the wound is considered healed. Healing by granulation takes a while. Be patient. Keep the area as clean as possible. You can always follow up with your surgeon if you're concerned. Definitely do so if you notice bleeding, pain or swelling, Dr. Anne
