I might need surgery for a pilonidal cyst, but i'm terrified of surgery. will there be a big hole or will it just be a small incision?

Pilonidal cyst: Pilonidal cysts can vary from very simple and small to large recurrent cysts that are difficult to treat. Depending on the size, they can be completely closed but most surgeons have a low threshold to leave them open and pack them for several weeks (at home) to prevent wound breakdown. Make sure you are treated by an experienced general surgeon. Plastic surgeons may be needed for complex cases.
