STD's and pain: GC usually presents with a lot of pain and a thick yellowish discharge. Chlamydia on the other hand may have no d/c and even no pain. There are many other things besides STD's that could cause pain without discharge.

STD Discharge: While a discharge would typically accompany an STD such as chlamydia and gonorrhea, I would not assume the presence or absence of a discharge to be the end-all-and-be-all diagnostically, especially if the context were correct and other symptoms, such as burning with urination, were present.
