Ceftriaxone is: used to treat gonorrhea as a single injection dose.
Dual therapy for gonococcal infections (i.e., with ceftriaxone in a single intramuscular dose, in combination with either azithromycin or doxycycline) is now recommended to also treat Chlamydia.
