STD, see doctor soon: Your suspicion probably is correct. Urethral discharge almost always means an STD, and gonorrhea and chlamydia are the main causes. Yellow color tends to favor gonorrhea over chlamydia, but it could be either, or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) not due to chlamydia. Pain or burning often are not present. See a doctor or clinic right away for diagnosis and treatment. Good luck.

Hard to tell: Persistent penile discharge with or without burning should prompt an evaluation by your doctor. Better still is to be proactive about your sexual health . Safest sex by the way is abstinence or sexual activity in an exclusive mature relationship. Wishing you the best of health. Take care!

A 23-year-old female asked:

I have chlamydia and suspect I may have pid, will the zithromax prescribed cure PID if I have it, or do I need to go back to the doctor to be checked?

Go back: It's a good start but adding an injection of antibiotics and additional coverage would be wise and get you feeling better more quickly if it is pid. A pelvic exam and culture should be performed.

Expected: There is no normal bleeding pattern on implanon. That's how it works . Some have infrequent others more frequent. Either way it's ok.
