Yes, but...: There are several bacteria that might respond to doxycycline if levofloxacin doesn't work, but unlikely in this case. If you had an STD, almost certainly levo would have worked -- for example, chlamydia and most cases of nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). True prostatitis is uncommon at your age, and when present usually is nonbacterial and most antibiotics are ineffective. Discuss with your doctor.
