Needs an exam: Lumps, bumps, blisters and other skin abnormalities on the genitals need to be evaluated. An examination will be needed to know the cause and treatment. Herpes usually causes painful, irritated sores and not bumps. A gynecologist will need to visualize what you are seeing to make a diagnosis.

A blood test can also be done, but if this is new herpes, it's too soon to show anything. For sure have PCR, and also make sure that if positive the lab determines HSV type 1 or 2, very important.

Yes: Tender or painful bumps could be herpes. Sebaceous glands aren't usually painful.
