Appearance/numbers: Primary herpes will usually appear as a cluster of small,thin walled blisters.A pimple or pustule usually comes up in one at a time with a thick wall and may eventually drain thick material.

Agree, also the herpes lesion(s) will often be open or ulcerated ... an open sore ... and often very itchy!
