Vaginal Estrogen: When you are in menopause, your body stops making estrogen. Since the vaginal tissue is very sensitive to estrogen, it can become thin and lose its ability to stretch. When you have intercourse, you can actually get micro-tears in the vaginal wall that are painful. These symptoms usually respond to a vaginal estrogen cream or tablet. Don't have intercourse if its painful. Best wishes!
