No: The average menopause in the us is 51.3 years old, so you should be close to your own natural menopause. The use of depo-lupron prior to surgery can shrink fibroids as much as 40-50% and make the surgery easier, especially if the fibroids are large. At 52, rather than removing the fibroids, you may consider tah+bso; thus eliminating the 3rd, 4th and 5th causes of cancer in women. Just a thought.
