I had a barium enema this morning and this evening i have abdominal pain. should i be concerned? i have crohn's disease and most of my large bowel have been removed it is active in my rectum and remaining colon. small bowel exrays showed some narrowing. i

There : There are possible complications that can occur with a barium enema. Possibilities include: gastrointestinal bleeding, crampy abdominal pain, perforation of your colon, or barium hardening and partially or completely obstructing your bowel. I am answering this four days after you wrote in. If you still have pain at this time, with your complex medical history, recommend that you contact your physician and advise.
