Infection & Anomaly: We generally do not recommend the use of iuds for women who are having any undiagnosed bleeding, that can mask a cancer, any active pregnancy, any allergy or intolerance to levonorgestrel, or any condition where a IUD would not be expected to fit in the uterus, like an anomaly such as a bicornuate uterus.
