Need diagnosis: Loss of voice can be secondary to many possibilities. Overuse, misuse of the voice. Reflux of acid from the stomach. If you are a teacher or professional speaker you need a diagnosis. A very common cause of a voice problem is a simple cold or viral infection. If the voice becomes normal within 7-10 days, then it is one of the above. If the voice disorder exceeds 2-3 weeks, see an ENT doc.
