Body fluids carry it: HIV can be found in blood, semen, pre-ejaculate, vaginal fluid, and in breast milk. Typically, it is not found in other fluids such as tears, mucus, urine, sweat, saliva unless there is blood present in them. If there is detectable virus in the blood, there is contagiousness. Semen viral loads should not be used to gauge contagiousness.
