Still contagious: due to viral shedding (even without an outbreak).
Dr. Michael Fisher

Herpes: Even if no herpes lesions are present you are still shedding the herpes virus which means you are still contagious. The ony way to prevent asymptomatic shedding of the herpes virus is to take suppressive therapy of antiviral medication.

Herpes: I do not believe so. The virus would need a open sore, crack or cut to enter the body. Could a herpes virus live on food and then brush over a open sore on someone else say for instance sharing a bite on a utensil? Yes , i believe it could be transferred.

Supportive ring: Rectocele occurs when pelvic floor muscle lose support; rectum, usually uterus, maybe bladder sag. Pessary is a ring inserted into vagina to help keep things up and perky (kind of like a vaginal truss). This helps keep the rectum straight (as name implies), and lets it do its job of evacuating stool out, not bulge into vaginal vault.
