I am taking azithromycin 500mg for three days for syphilis treatment and i've already taken it for two days. now i'm told to take 2g single dose.

Not syphilis: I don't think you're being treated for syphilis. If it's syphilis you should be getting a shot of penicillin -- did you get that already? It sounds like they're treating you for chlamydia. You should talk to your doc about why they're making the changes.

Take a directed: Sometimes the daily dose doesn't reach the therapeutic level in the blood stream that eliminates the condition. 4 pills in one day, will reach that level.
