General anesthesia: You won't feel a thing during the operation if done under general anesthesia. Surgeon, if requested, can perform a local anesthetic block by injection at base of penis before you awake. Will be pain free for a few hours. Then suggest Ativan (lorazepam) at night to prevent or reduce painful nocturnal erections. You can also get a prescription for pain meds so it won't hurt much in the long run. Good luck.
