swelling: It depends on when your surgery was . In my experience my patients have very little post - op swelling due to a combination of bandaging, post - op injection and technique. If you are concerned for any reason see your surgeon. He/she would want to see you and address your concerns.

Yes. Swelling occurs with any surgery one has, no matter where on the body. Bunio surgery can result in swelling that lasts up to six months after surgery

Yes: Swelling is normal and how it lasts is an individual thing like if you have high blood pressure or something else.

yes most bunion surgery involves removing the bunion itself and performing an osteotomy to help straighten the toe. This can cause signifigant swelling for many weeks after the surgery esp since it is difficult to elevate your foot all the time! good Luck!

WHEN?: When was your surgery? I always tell patients; I cannot predict post-op swelling. Some patients have minimal swelling, while others can have some degree for several months. Everyone is different.
