Depends : Who is doing it and what type of procedure is being done. At minimum you can expect a bandage and a surgical shoe. However, you may also get a pair of crutches with a splint.

Different options: Depending on the type of surgery, you may get a surgical shoe, splint, rigid walking boot, and will possibly need to use crutches.

Dressing, shoe.: A stiff-soled post-op shoe or a walking boot, with a sterile dressing underneath. Ask your surgeon if you can remove the shoe or boot to sleep, but do not remove a bandage placed by your surgeon. The dressing itself should remain clean, dry, and intact!

Bunion surgery: Immediately post op there will be a dry sterile dressing that must be left intact or you risk infection. Over that can be a wooden shoe , stiff shoe or - my favorite - a cam walker and possibly crutches. All of this should eb discussed with your surgeon who is the only one that knows what procedure will be done . Good luck.
