No: If you have gout you need to be on allopurinol. If you do not have gout there is little reason to do anything about an elevated uric acid level. Tumeric has no benefit for this issue.

Tumeric without one of the the active ingredients of black pepper called piperine is not very well absorbed in your gut. Don't take one without the other. Also, tumeric will stain your teeth if it is not mixed into food. I know from personal experience.

It might: Some research seems to show that it may prevent cancer, may slow the spread of it, may make chemotherapy more effective while protecting healthy cells from radiation therapy. Studies are underway now.
